Man alleges Life Insurance Co. of North America wrongfully terminated benefits

Insurance 06

SAN FRANCISCO – An Alabama man alleges he is still disabled and that his benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Broderick Sigler filed a complaint on June 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Life Insurance Co. of North America alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled in 2014 and was initially receiving disability benefits for 24 months until it was terminated by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly denied any further payments of plaintiff's disability benefits despite meeting the criteria that determined eligibility.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by P. Randall Noah of Law Offices of P. Randall Noah in Orinda.
