LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles photographer is suing a clothing retailer, alleging copyright infringement.

Estevan Oriol filed a complaint Aug. 25 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ross Stores Inc. and Occasion USA Corp., alleging they illegally copied and used the plaintiff's copyrighted photograph.

According to the complaint, Oriol suffered damages from having his designs copied without his consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants are illegally selling clothing items that feature Oriol's photographs.

Oriol seeks trial by jury, injunction against the defendants, damages, statutory damages, actual damages, profits, legal fees, interest and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Kevin McCulloch and Nathaniel Kleinman of The McCulloch Law Firm, PLLC in New York, and by Andrew Delahunt of Law Office of Andrew Delahunt in West Hollywood.
