LOS ANGELES — A consumer has filed a class action lawsuit against a mobile/computer company, alleging negligent misrepresentation.

Michael Masterson, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint Nov. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Cheetah Mobile Inc., Sheng Fu, Yuk Keung Ng, and Vincent Zhenyu Jiang, alleging violation of federal securities laws.

According to the complaint, Masterson purchased Cheetah Mobile securities with artificially inflated prices. Masterson alleges the defendants issued operational and financial results that where known to them but they disregarded to inform the public. The suit says Cheetah Mobile uses company-controlled or fake accounts on the Live.me site to gift the users using company money.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants made public misrepresentations and failed to disclose material facts during the class period and overstated its revenue to induce the public to purchased the company's securities.

Masterson seeks trial by jury, damages sustained, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, expert fees, court costs and all other relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorney Laurence M. Rosen of The Rosen Law Firm PA in Los Angeles.
