LOS ANGELES — A California corporation is suing a competitor, alleging copyright infringement.

JiTrade Inc. filed a complaint Jan. 3 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against X-Chef and Does 1-10, alleging they illegally distributed an intellectual property without authority from owner.

According to the complaint, JiTrade has suffered general and special damages to its business, from X-Chef's ’ unauthorized reproduction, distribution and exploitation of the plaintiff’s copyrighted two-dimensional artwork for use on textiles and garments titled: SND1507_8A, SND1507_8B and SND1507_8C.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants deceived consumers as to the source, origin or authenticity of the infringing designs, and received money and profits that rightfully belong to JiTrade.

JiTrade seeks trial by jury, damages, profit from infringement, attorney fees, interest, costs of litigation and all further legal relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys Ginam Lee and Jay Hong of LPL Lawyers in Los Angeles.
