Man alleges Hadramout Restaurant does not have accessible parking spaces

SAN DIEGO – A San Diego restaurant is alleged to not have accessible parking for individuals with disabilities.

Chris Langer filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against Khanh Nguyen; Thanh Bui; Hadramout Group Inc. and Does 1- 10 over allege violations of the American’s With Disabilities Act and Unruh Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is a paraplegic and uses a wheelchair for mobility. He alleges he went to the defendants' Hadramout Restaurant in September 2017 and encountered barriers there.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendants allowed the parking spaces that were previously reserved for persons with disabilities to fade and become unrecognizable, which caused him difficulty and frustration that left him deciding to eat elsewhere. 

The plaintiff seeks injunctive relief, actual damages and a statutory minimum of $4,000, attorney fees, litigation expenses and costs of suit. He is represented by Isabel Masanque, Ray Ballister Jr. and Dennis Price of Center for Disability Access in San Diego.
