The Inn on Broadway guests allege elevator dropped while in use

SAN FRANCISCO – Two individuals allege they were injured at a San Francisco hotel when the elevator they were using dropped.

Lawrence Gomez and Samantha Zapata filed a complaint on March 16 in the Superior Court of California - County of San Francisco against The Inn on Broadway, Trikom Management Inc. and JAILAXMI LLC alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on June 26, 2016, they entered the elevator located within The Inn on Broadway to travel from the ground floor to the second floor. They allege prior to the doors opening to the second floor, the elevator suddenly dropped without warning, free-falling more than a floor before coming to an abrupt and immediate stop, causing injuries to both of the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs hold The Inn on Broadway, Trikom Management Inc. and JAILAXMI LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain, repair, inspect, or otherwise keep the elevator in a condition that was safe for use by persons using it.

The plaintiffs seek compensatory damages that exceed $25,000 plus costs of suit, and for such relief as is fair, just and equitable. They are represented by Christopher B. Dolan of Dolan Law Firm PC in San Francisco.
