Safeway shopper alleges he slipped on broken eggs

SAN FRANCISCO – A shopper at a San Francisco grocery store alleges he was injured in a fall because of spilled food.

Luis Castillo filed a complaint on March 21 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Safeway Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 26, 2016, he was shopping in the defendants' store when he slipped and fell on a carton of broken eggs. As a result, he alleges he sustained injuries that required medical intervention and incurred hospital and treatment expenses.

The plaintiff holds Safeway Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to remove or warn of the hazard.

The plaintiff sees compensatory damages according to proof. He is represented by Philip M. Green of Open Door Legal in San Francisco.
