LOS ANGELES – A Carson restaurant is alleged to not have accessible parking for patrons with disabilities.

Carmen John Perri filed a complaint on April 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Thai Original BBQ, Tung’s Investment Group Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Unruh Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is a wheelchair user and has a disabled person parking placard issued by the state. He alleges that on April 9, 2018, he visited the defendants' facility but no designated parking spaces were available for persons with disabilities that complied with the Americans with Disabilities Act. He also alleges the restrooms were not compliant.

The plaintiff holds Thai Original BBQ, Tung’s Investment Group Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly do not have a policy or plan in place to ensure compliant, accessible parking for patrons.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, award of actual and statutory damages of no less than $4,000 per violation, attorneys' fees, litigation expenses, and costs of suit. He is represented by Joseph R. Manning Jr., Michael J. Manning and Craig G. Cote of Manning Law APC in Newport Beach.
