FRESNO – A woman alleges uncooked onions on the floor of a Fresno restaurant caused her to fall and injure herself.

LaCreasia Elaine Fifer filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Edo-Ya Japanese Restaurant, Edo-Ya Tokyo Cuisine and Does 1-30 alleging negligence and failure to warn.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 22, 2016, she was dining at Edo-Ya Tokyo Cuisine Restaurant, owned and operated by the defendants in Fresno, to celebrate a birthday. She alleges she was injured when she unexpectedly stepped on uncooked onions on the floor at the restaurant and was caused her to fall and land on her right knee.

The plaintiff holds Edo-Ya Japanese Restaurant, Edo-Ya Tokyo Cuisine and Does 1-30 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn her about the existing dangers of the premises.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants for compensatory damages, costs of suit and further relief as is fair and just. She is represented by Scott A. Van Wagenen of Davis & Van Wagenen in Fresno.
