SAN FRANCISCO – The patient of a San Francisco County physician alleges he was injured because of a surgical procedure.

Blair Hansen filed a complaint on Nov. 20 in the San Francisco Superior Court against Curtis N. Crane, M.D. and Does 1-30 alleging medical negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff met with the defendant to discuss gender reassignment surgery, including metoidioplasty. The plaintiff alleges Crane "encouraged" phalloplasty instead.

However, plaintiff claims a week after phalloplasty, he suffered numerous complications and needed to undergo multiple revision surgeries to the correct the complications of the procedure.

The plaintiff holds Crane responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to accurately advise him of the risks of the surgery and the complication rate.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for general damages, costs of suit, and such other relief as the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Nancy Hersh, Kate Hersh-Boyle and Montana Baker of Hersh & Hersh in San Francisco.
