FRESNO – A Fresno County woman alleges that her age and religion were factors in her termination from a job with a bank.

Donna Silecchio filed a complaint on Nov. 19 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Bank of America NA and Does 1-100 alleging age discrimination, religious discrimination and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began her employment with the defendant in 2010 and was transferred to the Fig Garden branch in July 2017. She alleges at that location, she was treated differently because she was older than the other employees and was denied the right to attend her church. The suit states she was terminated March 20 at the age of 62 and was replaced by a younger person.

The plaintiff holds Bank of America NA and Does 1-100 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to reasonably accommodate plaintiff's religious beliefs, observances and practices and discriminated against plaintiff in the terms, conditions and privileges of her employment due to her Caucasian race and age.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for economic and non-economic damages, punitive damages, penalties and interest, attorneys' fees, costs of suit and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Stephen R. Cornwell of Cornwell & Sample LLP in Fresno and Todd B. Barsotti APC of Todd B. Barsotti in Fresno.
