FRESNO – A Huron woman allegedly has failed to pay reimbursement to Health Care Services for payments made for the health care of her decedent.

Director of California Department of Health Care Services Jennifer Kent filed a complaint to enforce and collect money due on a Medi-Cal creditor's claim on Jan. 11 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Alicia Ramirez, individually and Does 1 through 20.

According to the complaint, between Aug. 23, 1995, and Sept. 2, 2015, pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code and California Code of Regulations, Health Care Services, through Medi-Cal, paid for health services provided to plaintiff's decedent, Alfredo Ramirez, and for health care premiums for his benefit in the sum of $59,759.46.

The suit states pursuant to the law, Health Care Services shall claim reimbursement for these payments from the estate of the decedent. The suit states despite plaintiff's requests and written notice, the defendant has refused to comply with her obligation to reimburse all Medi-Cal payments.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in the sum of $59,769.46, plus interest, other accruing costs, costs of suit, and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, Supervising Deputy Attorney General Ismael A. Castro and Deputy Attorney General Judy Wong.
