21st Century Insurance Co. seeks damages from USDA

SACRAMENTO – An insurance firm is seeking damages after an auto accident.

21st Century Insurance Co. filed a complaint on July 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the United States of America and the U.S. Department of Agriculture alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 7, 2015, Steven James McDaniel, who it insured, was involved in an accident with Lester Capella, who was driving a USDA vehicle. The suit states the accident occurred near Sandridge Road and that as a result of Capella's negligence, McDaniel's insured property suffered $21,672.25 in damages.

The plaintiff seeks property damages in the sum of $21,672.25, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Susan M. Benson of Benson Legal APC in Encino.
