Photographer alleged to have not provided wedding photos

Contract 03

SAN FRANCISCO – A San Francisco lawyer has filed a suit against his wedding photographer.

Ray K. Shahani filed a complaint on July 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against alleging breach of contract, unfair competition and seeking declaratory relief for noninfringement of copyright.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, he hired the defendant to take photographs and video of his wedding. The plaintiff holds Moctezuma, and Does 1-25 responsible because the defendants allegedly refused to provide plaintiff digital copies of the photos taken during his wedding as well as the defendants knowingly used copyrighted songs in a video they provided using raw video and photographs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks declaration of plaintiff's noninfringement of the copyrighted music based on the defendant's infringement, award plaintiff any and all profits derived from the infringement, damages, order the defendant to pay royalties to owners of the copyrighted music, damages of at least $150,000 plus interest, treble damages, special damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is representing himself.
