Copyright 12

LOS ANGELES – Two Los Angeles companies allege a Texas website that covers celebrity news used their photographs without permission.

Fameflynet Inc. and BWP Media USA Inc., doing business as Pacific Coast News, filed a complaint on July 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Nice Kicks LLC alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages as the result of their copyrighted work being used without their authority by the defendant. The plaintiffs hold Nice Kicks LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly used plaintiffs' photographs and posted them publicly on its website.

The plaintiffs seek statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringement, actual damages, disgorgement, permanent injunction, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Craig B. Sanders of Sanders Law PLLC in Garden City, New York.
