LOS ANGELES – Three Los Angeles County companies allege a celebrity news site used their photographs without permission.
National Photo Group LLC; BWP Media USA Inc., doing business as Pacific Coast News; and FameFlynet Inc. filed a complaint on July 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against B. Scott Media LLC alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages as the result of their copyrighted work being used without their consent on the defendant's website www.lovebscott.com. The plaintiffs hold B. Scott Media LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly copied, modified and displayed plaintiffs' copyrighted photographs on its website.
The plaintiffs seek statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringement, actual damages, disgorgement, permanent injunction against the defendant, all legal fees and interest, and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Craig B. Sanders of Sanders Law PLLC in Garden City, New York.
