SAN DIEGO — A former employee who claims he designed a Metrocable system has filed suit against his previous employer for allegedly breaching their contract and copyright infringement.
Rodrigo Mayorga filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against Parsons Brinkerhoff Inc. and Does 1 through 20, alleging that they reproduced and distributed the plaintiff's copyrighted work.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2013 and 2014, he suffered damages from having his copyrighted work infringed. The plaintiff holds Parsons Brinkerhoff Inc. and Does 1 through 20 responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated the plaintiff's employment in order to acquire the plaintiff's Metrocable system.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks economic damages, general damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, disgorgement, injunctive relief, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. He is represented by Derek T. Anderson of Derek T. Anderson APC in San Diego.
