A.F. Brown Electrical Contractors allegedly failed to pay more than $50,000 to labor groups

LOS ANGELES — Labor groups have filed suit against an electrical contractor for allegedly failing to pay at least $50,000 in contributions.

Trustees of the Southern California Ibew-NECA Pension Plan, trustees of the Southern California Ibew-NECA Health Trust Fund, trustees of the Southern California Ibew-NECA Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund, trustees of the Los Angeles County Electrical Educational and Training Trust Fund, trustees of the Southern California Ibew-NECA Labor - Management Cooperation Committee, trustees of the National Electrical Benefit Fund, trustees of The National Ibew-NECA Labor Management Cooperation Committee, The Los Angeles Electrical Workers Credit Union, Administrative Maintenance Fund, and Contract Compliance Fund filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against A.F. Brown Electrical Contractors Inc., alleging that the employer failed to pay monthly contributions.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from the unpaid contributions. The plaintiffs hold A.F. Brown Electrical Contractors Inc. responsible. 

The plaintiffs seek unpaid fringe benefit contributions, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. They are represented by Susan Graham Lovelace and Matthew T. Bechtel of Laquer, Urban, Clifford & Hodge LLP in Pasadena.
