Woman alleges disability benefits were wrongfully terminated by Prudential

Insurance 10

SANTA ANA – An Orange County woman is seeking reinstatement to a long-term disability plan.

Erica Svenneby filed a complaint on Sept. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against The Prudential Insurance Co. of America; The JPMorgan Chase Long-Term Disability (LTD) Plan/502 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in December 2012, she became disabled and was awarded disability benefits until it was discontinued on Sept. 1, 2015. The plaintiff holds The Prudential Insurance Co. of America; The JPMorgan Chase Long-Term Disability (LTD) Plan/502 responsible because the defendants allegedly upheld their decision to deny plaintiff's claim for disability benefits despite the plaintiff having sufficient evidence to support her claim.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due to plaintiff, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Glenn R. Kantor, Alan E. Kassan and Mitchell O. Hefter of Kantor & Kantor LLP in Northridge.
