Former employee alleges DirecTV owes unpaid overtime wages

LOS ANGELES – A former employee has filed a class-action suit against a television service provider over allegations of labor law violations.

Elisa Aguirre filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Sept. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against DirecTV LLC and Does 1 through 10 citing the Fair Labor Standards Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for the defendants from September 2014 to October 2015. The plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation, was not provided with an accurate itemized wage statements, and that the defendants failed to pay her final wages until one week after her termination.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general, special and liquidated damages; unpaid wages; restitution; all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Brian J. Mankin and Peter J. Carlson of Fernandez & Lauby LLP in Riverside.
