SAN FRANCISCO – A Florida photographer claims a San Francisco corporation used his photos to promote its business.

Joe Myeress filed a complaint on Sept. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against USA World Business Service Inc. alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant used his copyrighted photos to advertise its tours of cities and tourist attractions in America. The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of up to $150,000 for each copyrighted work infringed, damages of up to $25,000 for each violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's works, order to dispose of all infringing materials, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Christopher B. Yeh of Duane Morris LLP in Los Angeles.
