Aerometals Inc. accused of copyright infringement over drawings use

SACRAMENTO – An Arizona helicopter manufacturer claims an El Dorado Hills corporation used its material without permission.

MD Helicopters Inc. filed a complaint on Sept. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Aerometals Inc. alleging copyright infringement and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Aerometals Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly used plaintiff's drawings for parts for the MD 500 series without authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, profits, augmented damages, punitive damages, restitution, permanent injunction against the defendant, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William D. Janicki and Lilian M. Loh of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP in San Francisco.
