Couple alleges collision with USDA employee caused injuries

Car accident 23

SACRAMENTO – An El Dorado County couple allege the husband was injured in an accident with a federal employee.

Steven James McDaniel and Linda McDaniel filed a complaint on Sept. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against United States of America alleging personal injuries and loss of consortium.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 7, 2015, they sustained severe damages to their property after a collision on state Route 49 with a U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service employee. The plaintiffs hold United States of America responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly crossed the double yellow lines and negligently collided with the plaintiffs' vehicle.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek noneconomic damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Robert B. Bale of Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora LLP in Sacramento.
