Los Angeles County individual alleged to owe more than $2,000 on student loan

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County resident is alleged to have defaulted on a student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Sept. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Burnett Brulee alleging that the individual failed to settle a debt with plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Brulee failed to pay the principal amount of a debt with plaintiff plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,673.70 plus interest of $1,982.63 with further interest at 8 percent per annum accruing at 59 cents per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull, APC in Northridge.
