Queerty Inc. accused of using unauthorized photos on website

LOS ANGELES – Two Los Angeles companies allege that they suffered damages from having their photographs used without their consent.

BWP Media USA Inc., doing business as Pacific Coast News and FameFlynet Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Queerty Inc. alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are providers of entertainment-related photojournalism goods such as celebrity photos. The plaintiffs hold Queerty Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly displayed plaintiffs' copyrighted photographs on their website without authorization.

The plaintiffs seek statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringement, actual damages, disgorgement, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Craig B. Sanders of Sanders Law, PLLC in Garden City, New York.
