EASTERN — An employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Stevens Transportation Co., Inc.; Stevens Van Lines Inc. and DOES 1 through 50, employer, citing alleged unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law, and violation of the California's Unfair Competition Act (UCL).

Frank Leitzbach filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Oct. 21, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the defendants alleging that they failed to pay fair compensation to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from not receiving fair wages including adequate meal breaks. The plaintiff holds Stevens Transportation Co., Inc.; Stevens Van Lines Inc., and DOES 1 through 50 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide an itemized wage statement or pay minimum wages to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid minimum wages and liquidated damages, continuation wages, statutory penalties, reimbursement of business expenses, restitution and disgorgement, to enjoin the defendant from further unfair business practices, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Joshua H. Haffner and Levi M. Plesset of Haffner Law PC in Los Angeles.
