Couple accuses Hyundai Motor America of allegedly selling cars with defective transmissions

CALIFORNIA — A couple have filed a class action lawsuit against Hyundai Motor America, a vehicle manufacturer, citing alleged breach of warranty and unjust enrichment.

Nicholas Wylie and Shawna Wylie filed a complaint on behalf of similarly situated individuals on Nov. 22, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Hyundai Motor America alleging that the vehicle manufacturer sells vehicles to consumers equipped with a defective transmission.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Nicholas Wylie and Shawna Wylie purchased a vehicle equipped with a defective transmission. The plaintiffs holds Hyundai Motor America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inform the plaintiff and other consumers regarding the defective nature of the seven-speed DCT transmission. 

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek to enjoin the defendant, disgorgement, all legal fees and interest, and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Jordan L.
