LOS ANGELES – A San Bernardino County man claims his disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.
David Cochran filed a complaint on Dec. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Reliance Standard Life Insurance Co. and Group Life and Medical Insurance Plan for Employees of the Capital Group Cos. Inc. citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2011, he became disabled and was initially receiving disability benefits until the benefits were terminated in 2015. The plaintiff holds Reliance Standard Life Insurance Co. and Group Life and Medical Insurance Plan for Employees of the Capital Group Cos. Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated plaintiff's disability benefits despite being disabled according to the plan.
The plaintiff seeks payment of plaintiff's disability benefits, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest, plus any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Glenn R. Kantor and Beth D. Perez of Kantor & Kantor LLP in Northridge.
