DFH Network Inc. alleged to continue to broadcast programming after contact terminated

SANTA ANA – An Irvine company is accused of continuing to broadcast programming from two Turkish companies after they terminated their contract.

Turkuvaz Televizyon ve Radyo Isletmeciligi AS and Turkuvaz Aktif Televizyon Prodüksiyon Anonim Sirketi filed a complaint on Dec. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Southern Division against DFH Network Inc. alleging breach of contract, copyright infringement, unfair competition and trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs and the defendant entered into an agreement to grant DFH the exclusive right to distribute and market the plaintiffs' programming. The plaintiffs holds DFH Network Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiffs for its broadcasting rights and continued to broadcast programming after the plaintiffs terminated the agreement.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek to enjoin the defendant, destroy all stock of infringing materials, compensatory damages, statutory damages, disgorgement, all legal fees, damages, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Sterling A. Brennan and Tyson K. Hottinger of Maschoff Brennan Laycock Gilmore Israelsen & Wright PLLC in Irvine.
