Southwest Group CA Inc. accused of not paying employee contributions

SANTA ANA – A Southern California employer is alleged to owe more than $45,000 in contributions to labor union funds.

Trustees of the Unionroofers, Supplemental Annuity Trust, Union Roofers Health & Welfare Fund, et al. filed a complaint on Dec. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Southern Division against Southwest Group CA Inc. and Does 1 through 10 citing the Labor Management Relations Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages due to unpaid and late-paid contributions. The plaintiffs holds Southwest Group CA Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their bargaining agreement with the plaintiffs as the result of failing to pay benefit contributions on behalf of their employees.

The plaintiffs seek unpaid contributions in the sum of $46,131.50, plus interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Jodi Siegner of DeCarlo & Shanley in Los Angeles.
