LOS ANGELES – The federal government claims a San Bernardino County resident has defaulted on a student loan.
United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Dec. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Maria Solano alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt with the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, Solano allegedly failed to pay the principal amount of her debt plus interest.
The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $7,762.95 plus interest of $14,463.36 with interest accruing thereafter at 8.980 percent per annum, plus all legal fees. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
