LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County business claims that its textile designs were unlawfully used for clothing.
Design By Nature LLC filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the National Stores Inc., Rue 21 Inc., Club House Creations Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its designs used without its consent. The plaintiff holds National Stores Inc., Rue 21 Inc., Club House Creations Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold fabrics and garments that featured plaintiff's designs without authorization.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by K. Tom Kohan of Kohan Law Firm in Los Angeles.
