LOS ANGELES – Two businesses are accused of using a Vernon company's copyrighted fabric design without authorization.
Unicolors Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Louise Paris LTD, doing business as New Look; United Fashions of Texas LLC, doing business as Melrose; and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Louise Paris LTD, doing business as New Look; United Fashions of Texas LLC, doing business as Melrose; and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold garments made out of fabrics that feature plaintiff's 402257 design.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all profits and damages to the plaintiff, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
