Manny the Movie Guy accused of copyright infringement over use of Scorsese photo

LOS ANGELES – A Santa Monica photographer alleges a photo was used on a movie-related website without permission.

Michael Grecco Productions Inc., doing business as Michael Grecco Photography, filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Manny De La Rosa, doing business as Manny the Movie Guy, and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it created a photo of Martin Scorsese in 2006 and owns the copyrights. The plaintiff holds De La Rosa and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly copied and displayed plaintiff's copyrighted photographs on their website, mannythemovieguy.com, without authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all profits and damages, statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott Alan Burroughs and David Shein of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
