LOS ANGELES – A textile converter alleges that two of its designs were used without permission in garments.

Acmet Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Zulily LLC and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of two of its designs being used on other fabrics. The plaintiff holds Zulily LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sell fabrics that feature plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's designs, award all profits, statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
