Man seeks payment of disability benefits from Liberty Life Assurance Co.

LOS ANGELES – A former Ecolab employee is seeking long-term disability benefits he alleges were wrongfully denied to him.

Anthony Pesce filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April 2014, he became disabled and applied for disability benefits but was denied by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's application for disability benefits based on its claim that the plaintiff was not disabled when he left work.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due to the plaintiff, declare that the plaintiff is entitled to receive benefits, injunctive relief, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
