Dale Tiffany Inc. claims Dynamic Way unlawfully copied lamp design

Copyright 05

LOS ANGELES – A La Mirada decorative lighting company alleges one of its copyrighted lamp designs was used without permission by a Pomona company.

Dale Tiffany Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Dynamic Way and Does 1 through 50 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its Boehme Table Lamp design copied without its permission. The plaintiff holds Dynamic Way and Does 1 through 50 responsible because the defendants allegedly continued to copy and sell items that infringes plaintiff's copyright despite being notified by the plaintiff of the alleged infringement in November 2016.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, statutory damages of $150,000 for each work infringed, profits, injunctive relief, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Steven Y. Han of The Han Law Group in Los Angeles.
