LOS ANGELES – A Redondo Beach celebrity photograph agency claims a Georgia business that operates a shopping website and app used its photos without permission.
AKM-GSI Media Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Looklive Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having at least 20 of its photographs used without its consent. The plaintiff holds Looklive Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly took plaintiff's copyrighted photographs and publicly displayed them on their website and app.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's photographs, order to seize and impound all infringing materials, award profits and damages to the plaintiff, actual damages and disgorgement, statutory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Peter Afrasiabi of One LLP in Newport Beach and by Joanna Ardalan of One LLP in Beverly Hills.
