City Prints claims G.S.L Inc. unlawfully used fabric design in clothes sold at Macy's

LOS ANGELES – A New York company alleges a Santa Cruz business and an Ohio company used its fabric designs without permission.

City Prints LLC filed a complaint on Jan. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against G.S.L. Inc., Macy's Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its P21388 design copied. The plaintiff holds Santa Cruz-based G.S.L. Inc. unlawfully used the design on clothing with the label City Studio, which was later sold by Macy's.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
