LOS ANGELES – A Burbank resident alleges a debt collector called her at a harassing rate to collect an alleged debt.
Zyiad Zreik filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Charter Communications Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls on her cellular telephone. The plaintiff holds Charter Communications Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call the plaintiff and continued to call her despite her request to stop calling in August 2016.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, treble damages, actual damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law in Phoenix, Arizona.
