Ford Focus owner alleges engine, transmission still hasn't been repaired by dealerships

LOS ANGELES – An El Monte consumer claims that engine and transmission defects in his Ford vehicle were not repaired after six trips to various dealerships.

Thomas Johnson filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ford Motor Co. and Does 1 through 15 citing breach of implied warranty, violation of the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 29, 2013, he purchased a brand-new Ford Focus that contained a defective engine and transmission and took it in to a mechanic several times to have the issues fixed. The plaintiff holds Ford Motor Co. and Does 1 through 15 responsible because the plaintiff alleges he has been damages by the defendants' failure to comply with its obligations under the warranty.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks restitution, actual damages, consequential and incidental damages, punitive damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
