LOS ANGELES – A labor union retirement plan alleges it is owed a withdrawal liability fee from a corporation.
GCIU-Employer Retirement Fund and board of trustees of the GCIU-Employer Retirement Fund filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against The Riegle Press Inc. citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the defendant withdrew from participating in the plaintiffs' fund in 2010. The plaintiffs hold The Riegle Press Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly did not pay the withdrawal liability fee in full.
The plaintiffs seek past due withdrawal liability payment, interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Kerry K. Fennelly and Valentina S. Mindirgasova of Cornwell & Baldwin in Escondido.
