Man alleged to owe more than $2,700 on student loan

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County individual is alleged to have defaulted on a student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on Feb. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Charlie L. Lumpkin alleging failure to pay.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Lumpkin failed to pay the principal amount of his debt including interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,736.60, plus interest of $1,873.34 with further interest at 8 percent per annum accruing at 60 cents per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge.
