Chic Home Design accused of unlawfully copying home furnishing designs

SAN FRANCISCO – An Alameda County corporation that sells wholesale home furnishings alleges a competing company copied its graphic designs.

E & E Co. LTD filed a complaint on Feb. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against the Chic Home Design LLC and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to their business as the result of its designs being copied. The plaintiff holds Chic Home Design LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly copied its graphic designs and used them without authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, profits, statutory damages, enhanced damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Michael W. Ellison and Michael G. Bosko of Smith Ellison in Irvine.
