LOS ANGELES – A Fillmore consumer alleges a debt collector called him at an unreasonable rate.

Ron Bruce Ashmore filed a complaint on Feb. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Premier Auto Credit alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in September 2016, he revoked his consent in a conversation with a representative of the defendant to receive collection calls. The plaintiff holds Premier Auto Credit responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite his request to stop calling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500, treble damages, actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, all legal fees, punitive damages and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
