LOS ANGELES – A Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. employee alleges her long-term disability benefits were unlawfully terminated.
Julie Harder filed a complaint on Feb. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Long Term Disability Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2010, she became disabled and was initially received disability benefits until her claim was denied in 2013. The plaintiff holds Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Long Term Disability Plan responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's disability benefits despite having sufficient medical evidence to support her claim.
The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due to the plaintiff, reinstatement to the plan, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Glenn R. Kantor and Brent Dorian Brehm of Kantor & Kantor in Northridge.
