A physician accuses United Healthcare of alleged breach of contract

LOS ANGELES — A physician is suing United Healthcare Services Inc., United Healthcare Insurance Company and Does 1 through 100, citing an alleged breach of contract.

Adel F. Samaan, M.D. filed a lawsuit on March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California alleging that the defendants refused to pay the plaintiff for her claims.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from not being paid for services rendered for plan members. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly refusing to honor the plaintiff's claims for medical services provided to their members.

The plaintiff seeks damages, interest and all legal fees. She is represented by Richard D. Williams and Mina Hakakian of Lytton & Williams LLP in Los Angeles.
