Law money 04

SAN FRANCISCO – A former employee of a Lake County construction company alleges he is owed for overtime work.

Kim Miller filed a complaint on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Bridges Construction, Douglas K. Bridges and Jonathon Bridges citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was employed by the defendants from May 2016 to January 2017. He alleges he was paid as an independent contractor. The plaintiff holds Bridges Construction, Douglas K. Bridges and Jonathon Bridges responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate meal breaks to the plaintiff during his employment, did not provide an itemized wage statement and failed to adequately compensate him for overtime work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages for unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages of more than $5,000, damages for meal premiums not paid, restitution and disgorgement, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Michael L. Tracy of Law Offices of Michael Tracy in Irvine.
