Government seeks payment of student loans allegedly in default from Los Angeles County woman

LOS ANGELES – The federal government claims a Los Angeles County woman failed to pay her student loans.

United States of America, on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Tracy O. Stockstell, also known as Tracy O. Stockstell-Allen alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Stockstell failed to pay the principal amount of her debt including interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $5,937.22 plus interest of $13,865.20 plus interest accruing thereafter at 9.130 percent per annum; principal amount of $3,078.03 plus interest of $6,222.74 plus interest accruing thereafter at 8 percent per annum plus all legal fees. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
