LOS ANGELES – A Santa Monica company alleges it has been damaged by a company's deceptive and unlawful conduct.
NextEngine Inc. filed a complaint on March 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Bigfoot Ventures LTD and Does 1 through 10 alleging trademark infringement, cybersquatting and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that NextEngine Inc. suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Bigfoot Ventures LTD and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used a confusingly similar trademark as the plaintiff, NextEngine Ventures LTD, causing confusion to consumers.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, punitive and exemplary damages, all damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by John M. Pierce and David A. Sergenian of Pierce Sergenian LLP in Los Angeles.
